'In An Emergency' - Another Bairnsdale Line Sketch

St Kilda Pier

My return trip from Melbourne included cycling the bike track from Sandringham. Getting the train to Flinders Street would have been easier but I decided to get some exercise.

Healesville Zinesters Train Sketch

Travelling home from the Healesville zine day I drew two zine maker stall holders who were on the same train line.

Healesville Zine Day 2026 - Some Zine Makers

Last weekend I attended the Healesville Zine Day and made a few sketches at the time that will be the basis for a zine, Zine Daze 3. Among the drawings was this one I did of the two girls sitting opposite. I also made some portraits, on request, for paying customers.

New Zine Zine!

'Zine Daze 2' is a collection of my sketches based on Zine days at Geelong and Inverleigh. I employ the usual artistic licence, all in the interests of satire and irony. Also included are so sketches based on my train trip from Melbourne to Geelong, the Royal Dental Hospital waiting room, some unusual toy figures I bought at Camberwell Sunday market and a sexy fairy from my Fractured Fairy zine.

You can buy one direct from me at Healesville zine day at the town hall this coming Sunday.

Port of Sale

Colored pencil sketch. Actually, landscapes don't especially excite me but I still draw the odd one as a record of where I have been. That is my bike basket in the foreground.

Drawing Klara at the Portrait Group

The group was sketching Klara today. I tried out a few different styles today. They are all 15 to 20 minute sketches.

First up is a pencil sketch with sepia finish added on the computer.

The next two I started by drawing without looking at the paper before reverting to looking. Colored pencil.

                                                           Colored pencil and marker pen.

Next is actually the other half to the picture. This is actually my favourite sketch for the day.

The next two are also two halves an my next favorite. Fineliner.
